Dry Season Farming: FG Supports Katsina With Farming Tools

The Federal Government has said in line with its commitment to ensuring food security across the country, a series of farming equipment has been sent to Katsina State government to support the state’s dry season farming.

The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, said President Bola Tinubu’s government was committed to ensuring food sufficiency across the nations.

In a statement on Friday, Kyari commended Governor Dikko Umaru Radda for his determination to ensure food security in his state.

Items given to the Katsina State Government include 4000 pieces of water pumping machines, 4000 units of knapsack sprayers, 4000 liters of insecticide chemicals, 4000 liters of non-selective herbicides, 4000 liters of organic fertilizers and 4000 pieces of hermetic storage bags.

It read: “In alignment with the impactful initiative launched by the Executive Governor of Katsina State, His Excellency Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON, where he distributed 4,000 hand power tillers, 4,000 solar-powered water pumps, and 48,000 bags of fertilizers to farmers across the state on the 23rd of December 2024, and in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR’s unwavering emphasis on ensuring food security in Nigeria, I am pleased to announce that we have donated the following to support the government and the good people of Katsina State:

” Water Pumping Machines – 4,000 pieces, Knapsack Sprayers – 4,000 units, Insecticide Chemicals – 4,000 liters. Selective Herbicides – 4,000 liters, Non-Selective Herbicides – 4,000 liters, Organic Fertilizer – 4,000 liters and Hermetic Storage Bags – 4,000 pieces.”

The Minister of Agriculture said the “donation reflects our shared vision of empowering farmers and enhancing agricultural productivity across Nigeria“.
