Super Eagles of Nigeria captain, Ahmed Musa led former Nigeria Premier Football League champions, Kano Pillars to stun reigning champions, Enugu Rangers at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
During the thrilling midweek NPFL clash in the Southeast, Kano Pillars scored four goals in the first 46 minutes against Rangers, who couldn’t make any effective response until the second half of the encounter.
Ahmed Musa made it 4-0 in favor of the visitors in the additional minute of the first half after providing an assist and being fouled in the penalty box to grab a spot-kick for his team.
This means that Musa who has not been invited for national team duties since after the 2023 AFCON in February 2024, has scored three goals in three games for Kano Pillars.
Other scorers for the northern team against Rangers were Zulkifilu Muhammed and Rabiu Ali, who scored twice in the game, including once from the penalty spot.
Enugu Rangers staged a comeback in the second half as they scored three goals between the 47th minute and the 90th minute of the thrilling encounter. Unfortunately for them, that was the best they could do as the game ended in a 4-3 defeat for the reigning champions.
