Victor Osimhen Wins First Award At Galatasaray

Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen, has clinched his first Turkish Super Lig accolade shortly after joining Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Napoli.

The Nigeria international’s remarkable goal against Kasımpaşa has been chosen as the Goal of the Week by IN SPORTS, securing an overwhelming 77.96% of the total votes.

Osimhen notched his first goal and followed it up with a brace, although it wasn’t sufficient to secure a victory for the Turkish champions, as they relinquished a three-goal lead, ending the match in a draw.

The 25-year-old displayed his skill and precision by volleying home with his left foot after receiving a pass from former Napoli teammate Dries Martens, propelling his team to a 2-0 lead.

Despite missing pre-season due to transfer complications, Osimhen has rapidly become a pivotal player for Galatasaray, contributing to goals in all four appearances for the club.

He has now tallied two goals and four assists in four games for the Lions since his loan move from Napoli.

Unfortunately, Osimhen is currently sidelined with an injury sustained during a league game. Although he missed the Europa League clash against RFS in Latvia, the injury is not severe, and he is anticipated to make a swift return.

Osimhen was not included in Super Eagles squad for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya due to his fitness issues.
