NPFL Update: Niger Tornadoes To Get Full Bonus Despite Draw, Remo Stars’ Striker Injured, Others

The chairman of Niger Tornadoes, Ibrahim Dada, has expressed his admiration for the team’s performance in the 1-1 draw against Bendel Insurance despite playing with 10 players for most of the NPFL game.

He commended their resilience and considered the result as a win, promising them a full match bonus as Tornadoes prepare to face Heartland in their next NPFL match.

During his visit to the players’ training base on Tuesday, Dada said: “Playing with a man down and securing a draw is commendable. I’m proud of your resilience.

“It is you who saw the result as a draw. To me, it was a win, and I therefore pledge a token of appreciation, and I’ll pay a match bonus for the draw.

“Normally, we pay bonuses for away draws, wins, and home wins as a reward, but for the game against Bendel Insurance, I’m paying you a full match bonus.”

Nasarawa United Coach Targets Stability

Nasarawa United’s technical director, Kabiru Dogo, emphasized the team’s goal of achieving stability in the 2024-25 NPFL season.

Following their first win of the season against Ikorodu City, Dogo highlighted the importance of stabilizing the team.

Note that Nasarawa United will play against Bayelsa United in their upcoming match.

Kennedy Boboye Gets Praised

Bamidele Ologunloluwa, the chairman of Sunshine Stars, praised Kennedy Boboye and Seth Mayi for their recognition in the NPFL’s Team of the Week.

Ologunloluwa congratulated the players and emphasized the need for focus and teamwork to achieve their season’s target.

“I congratulate Sunshine Stars players for the great achievement as I am confident many of them will still win something bigger,” Ologunloluwa told the club’s media.

“Let us remain focused on the task ahead; we are not there yet, but I am sure with sincerity of purpose and teamwork, we shall achieve our target this season.

“Seth and Coach Boboye would not have achieved this feat without the support of the entire team.”

Amakpakabo Picks Inspiration From First Win

The head coach of Abia Warriors, Imama Amakpakabo, has acknowledged that the team is a work in progress and emphasized the need to change the players’ mentality and philosophy.

Following their first win of the season against Kano Pillars, Amakpakabo believes that the victory will boost the team’s morale for future games.

“Yes, I came into a team that has a lot of new players; it’s always tough when you have to change the mentality, Philosophy and orientation of the players, which we have been doing gradually, and we have been able to get our first victory,” Amakpakabo told Abia Warriors media.

“Though we have been creating chances to win games in the matches we have played, most importantly, the victory over Kano Pillars will boost everybody’s spirit towards what we are trying to achieve.”

Alex Oyowah Injured

Remo Stars forward Alex Oyowah will be sidelined due to a muscle lace injury suffered during their match against Rangers.

It is reported that Oyowah will be out for two weeks as Remo Stars prepare to face Kwara United in their next league game.
