Fintiri highlighted the importance of introspection and shared accountability in tackling the nation’s shortcomings. He underlines that progress is possible only by owning up to one’s actions and moving away from a mindset of victimhood.

“Some of these weaknesses are within our means to correct, but we will only succeed if we are brave and honest enough to accept responsibility for our actions and reject the convenient attitude of playing the victim and blaming others,” Fintiri said.

Fintiri reassured that his government remain committed to leaving no one behind and ensuring that every Adamawa citizen benefits from these efforts.

“I commend you all for reaching this milestone, surviving pitfalls, and regaining dignity through democracy. Though 64 years is brief for a nation, we’ve had time to make significant changes.

“Regrettably, unpatriotic acts and injustice have undermined our progress. We must accept responsibility and reject victimhood.

“My administration will continue empowering Adamawa citizens through human capital development and infrastructure investments, boosting the economy, and improving living conditions,” he said.

On the current hardship in the country, Fintiri said, “I see hope in Nigeria’s future. Let’s work together to provide good governance and democracy dividends.”

Reflecting further on Nigeria’s 64th independence anniversary, the governor said the government’s new thinking serves as a reminder of the country’s potential for growth and progress.

“Let us unite in supporting the government’s initiatives and work together towards a brighter future,” Fintiri noted.

The Governor praised the security forces for their relentless work in keeping the state peaceful and orderly, noting that his government’s efforts towards peace are focused on fostering unity and comprehension among the residents.

He called on the citizens to not jeopardize the precious peace they have achieved.
