Akwa United Coach Disappointed Over Defeat

Akwa United’s head coach, Mohammed Babaganaru, has expressed disappointment over the team’s 2-1 home loss to Sunshine Stars but acknowledged the unpredictable nature of football.

He emphasized the need to capitalize on goal-scoring opportunities and maintain focus for future matches.

“I can’t believe that we lost at home to Sunshine Stars after all the effort we made. I totally understand that in the game of football, there are three results but we didn’t deserve the result we got because it was not the true reflection of what transpired,” Babaganaru told the club’s official website.

“We created many goal-scoring opportunities but how we didn’t bury those chances is what I don’t understand.”

Niger Tornadoes Coach Blame Red Card For Draw

Niger Tornadoes’ head coach, Majin Mohammed, has reflected on his team’s 1-1 draw against Bendel Insurance, attributing the result to the early red card that impacted the game.

He praised the players for their resilience and highlighted the competitive nature of the league.

“The early minute red card disrupted our match plan, but it’s part of the game, however, it was a good game despite playing with a man down, the boys gave a good account of themselves, created chances, scored a goal but couldn’t defend it,” Mohammed said.

“We appreciate God for a point is better than nothing, we knew it was going to be very hard for us knowing well that the visitors were still sweating from their 17 years home unbeaten record we broke last season, so they came with the mindset to cause an upset here.

“Above all the league is improving, the referee are doing well, that’s why teams are picking points away from home, We will also go out and hunt for more points.

“We are not under any form of pressure, at least, whatever we lose here, God always complement it for us when we go away.”
