Winner of the Big Brother Naija Season 5 edition, Olamilakan Agbeleshe, popularly called Layon is still holding on to his record-breaking achievement in the history of the show’s voting chart.
Naija News reports that the Season 7 edition of the reality show ended on Sunday, October 2, 2022, with Phyna emerging as the winner.
After a series of nominations as well as escaping eviction, Phyna beat fellow housemates to the N100 million grand prize.
While one of the housemates was disqualified, twenty-one housemates were evicted with Phyna, Bryann, Adekunle, ChiChi, Daniella, and Bella emerging as the 6 finalists.
Details of the voting show that Phyna pulled 40.74% of the votes to be crowned the winner of the show.
Other housemates’ votes are as follows:
Bryann 26.74%
Bella 15.78%.
Adekunle 12.36%
ChiChi 2.49%
Daniella 1.89%
However, two years after winning the show, none of the housemates have been able to break the record of Laycon.
According to the BBNaija chart in 2020, Laycon become the first ever housemate since the inception of the show to win a 60% vote margin.
His runner-up, Dorathy got only 21.85 per cent, while Nengi who came third got 15.03 per cent.
Vee and her lover Neo got the smallest percentage as they both had 1.94 per cent and 1.18 per cent, respectively.
It was the first time ever that a contestant on the Big Brother Naija show will leave his or her runner-up with so much gap in terms of the percentage of votes.
Laycon’s popularity greatly soared in the house due to his amazing musical talent and his carefree attitude towards his housemates.
