Nigerian singer, Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has apologized to his fans for his failure to show up at the Ghana concert over the weekend.
Naija News earlier reported that show promoters held a Wizkid live concert in Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday night, December 11, 2022, for fans of the singer.
However, the singer did not show up for the event, which left his fans and music lovers dismayed.
Reacting to the singer’s absence, many of his fans took to their social media to call out the singer whilst expressing displeasure over how the event panned out.
I Love You Ghana
In a statement shared on his Twitter page on Sunday night, Wizkid apologized for not showing up at the concert stating he wouldn’t act in such a manner without a serious reason behind it.
The ‘Ojuelegbe’ crooner noted he does not joke with his fans stressing he had prepared, planned, and looked forward to attending the show but had to make a drastic decision.
According to the singer, his absence was due to safety and production issues which prevented him from putting on the high-quality show that his fans deserve.
He added that he and his team would schedule another show for his fans in Ghana.
He wrote: “Love you Ghana. Ghana is a country I hold so dear to my heart, first and foremost I wanna apologize to all my fan! Y’all know I would never do anything, without a serious reasoning behind it. My brand is something I don’t joke with! I sincerely apologize, to everyone who made the effort to come out for me last night. I was charged, looking forward to doing this show.
“However, please understand that every decision I made co-sided with honoring my fans and would only make a drastic decision like this because it was the right thing to do and I had to. Unfortunately, up until the day of this show, there continued to be safety and production issues that prevented me from putting on a high-quality show that my fans deserve.
“My team and myself are working on delivering a show to my amazing fans in Ghana. It will be just us, me and you. Date and details soon. Love you”
