2023: Kwankwaso Speaks On Receiving $660,000 From Wike For Kano PDP Delegates

Former Kano Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has denied getting remuneration from Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.

A statement issued on Saturday night by his spokesman, Ibrahim Adamu said the bribery allegation embarrasses the national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

The former Kano Central Senator is accused of receiving $15,000 from Wike for each of the 44 Kano Peoples Democratic Party delegates.

Adamu recalled that Kwankwaso announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on March 29.

He said: “It is ridiculous that a Presidential Aspirant will entice an opposition party leader with money to woe delegates from his own party”

“We deny this spurious allegation. We urge the general public to disregard the false information as it is totally false and misleading”

Kwankwaso urged his supporters to be focused, determined, and ignore “stories paid to smear” his “soaring popularity.”

The 811 PDP delegates are made up of one national delegate chosen from each of the 774 LGAs.

Kwankwaso a former Minister of Defense is a presidential aspirant on the platform of the NNPP while Wike is a presidential aspirant of the PDP.
